2005: Debuts as the 3rd graduate from the Dragon Gate system. Trained by Araken, he was given apprentice status to Final M2K, but not membership. After several months of poor growth, he underwent a 10 match trial series. Naturally, he lost them all. He was sent back to the dojo to train further. He re-debuted at the end of the year, alongside Yuki Ono. Don Fujii renamed the pair to Tozawa and Katsuo in the katakana alphabet.
2006: During the Brave Gate league, he scored the biggest win of his career over Naruki Doi. Araken was so proud he offered Tozawa a spot in M2K. He refused, saying he had his own plans. Debuted as Akira Tozawa the following month, and announced the formation of Tozawajuku. It began as a comedy unit, but as the year progressed they began to seek out a serious identity. Reverted to his rookie era Tozawa character for Dragon Gate NEX.
2007: Had an infamous series of matches with DDTs' Danshoku Dieno. Despite these matches gaining him some MVP honors, he continued to fall in rank. Rumors of backstage misbehavior left him oft punished and left off shows most of the year. Began bulking up at the end of the year.

Became incredibly fat in 2008. He and Ono formed the Metabolic Brothers team within Tozawajuku. After continued verbal abuse from Araken and Iwasa, he chose to return to his Tozawajuku character and go on a diet. Whether this will bring him any form of success is a mystery.
